Do you think that the word is racist? I don't think Gary has a racist bone in his body tbh - I think he's using a word that he and Jim made up to express their view of a driver who is happy to rent a vehicle rather than get a plate themselves, I think they use the word to provoke reaction.

I personally don't like the word, although arguably it isn't a word - it isn't even urban slang - its a made uppy. I personally don't take insult with a word that doesn't actually exist because I also believe the thought behind the word is false.

I also think none of you have seriously attempted to counter the argument - for example - when Gary decided he didn't want to be a cab owner anymore (which was about 5 minutes after the plate was granted) - did he choose to emancipate one of his fellow drivers by giving the plate away to them? He didn't and neither did Jim. So arguably the perceived slavery stops at the point of monetary interest.

I haven't banned any words - I am probably able to - but we may lose the entire website if I tried.

Bollocks!! I didn't create the system and the only way to emancipate the slaves is to change the system by freeing the Cab****ers and granting them their own autonomy. In this case by giving them unfettered access to the tools of their trade. You can't have emancipation when you still have slaves controlled by Drivers or Overseers.

The system is in place to maintain standards and maintain a decent ratio in respect of supply and demand - what you propose is failure., its failed all over the country and the very people you purport to free are the ones who have found life more difficult under deregulation than with regulation.

However, if you don't like the system you should perhaps get into elected office and attempt to change it from a position on a licensing committee?
