Ah, now i know!

Garage took it in and disconnected everything. Only thing they could find was that the track rod ends are a bit tight, but they are new and agreed that they would wear off.

They came to the conclusion its not life threatening to the cab, tyres, tracking and that is just minuscule. They accept responsibility to have the cab office phone them and ask what they think and tell them the same thing they told me.

Seriously though, sounds like you need a new steering box, mine went as notchy as hell before finally spilling its lifeblood on the garage floor. Also be aware that a reconditioned one may have more miles on than the one its replacing, had one that was so stiff you couldn't move it by hand when it came off the car, ended up with my original box redone, been fine ever since.

Anyone know what a weird vibration noise could be when pressing the accelerator the first few mm down? its loud noise in the cab. Does it mainly when starting off or only if you press lightly on the peddle. On a tx2 auto

Needs the take up adjusting, and possibly a gearbox oil and filter change
