a friend of my old mans had to go to manchester from newcastle ( hospital appointment) he phoned the hospital & told them that there was a rail strike proposed so probably wouldn't make it, they told him to get a taxi & they would foot the bill as he needed to be there , so he phoned me & i said i would take him no problem, the rail strike isn't gonna happen now , that's me 200 quid out of pocket

We had a take and return to Bristol cancel because the strike was called off. £200 each way!

I find this deeply concerning, the NHS is one of the biggest transport providers via the ambulance services in the UK, the PTS per area has many many smaller vehicles and drivers available, a taxi should be the very last option

probably because the rail strike was " up in the air " so to speak, they probably wouldn't be able to organise one at short notice

I used to do Porthmadog to The Royal at Liverpool, The Orthopaedic at Wrexham, Birmingham Nuffield and Papworth on a regular basis but there was no alternative transport to get to appts on time

I wouldnt normally do this but...

No ya pillock, the unions realise the games up and they only harm themselves and the industry when attempting to exert pressure when they have none left

They didnt strike and took a few coppers more rather than lose jobs and income

Me leading them dont know if they could afford me :D anyway as i understand it the latest offer will go to ballot of the membership who decision on the offer is the only one that counts..............i think in my book.

They reject it then no doubt they will act like Human beings and STRIKE for their just claim =D> =D> =D> A FOREIGN CONCEPT TO YOU OF COURSE SNIVELLER

Of course they could always follow your example and grovel snivel couldn't they ...maybe Drive 8 miles for £14 get swindled by their governor watch work being distributed unfairly as you so carefully point out on here [clever boy] you DO =D> =D> GROVELLLER

Maybe one day the penny will drop your much better off NOT trying to debate with personages of far superior intelligence than yourself with your extremely limited mental capacity get back into your straight jacket we do sympathise with your MENTAL incapacity CRET :D

I wish Bob Crow was still alive, he would've had them out no matter what. The RMT is not a better place without him.
