A taxi driver in Italy charged a passenger more than double the fare after blaming a puncture on the man's weight.
The journey from Rome's central Termini station to a clinic in the outskirts of the city usually costs around €30 (£21).
Yet during the journey, the driver was forced out of his car to change the tyre, and once the destination was reached, the 59-year-old passenger was charged €80.
Speaking to Rome daily newspaper Il Messaggero, the unnamed customer, who weighs almost 24stone, said the driver had returned to the vehicle 'in a temper' after changing the tyre.
He said that he couldn't make out what the taxi driver was saying, but that he was 'muttering' on making his way back into the car.
'I thought he was just annoyed about the incident. I never would have imagined what was going to happen,' he said.
He then spoke of his shock after the driver added €50 onto the total charge.
'I felt humiliated. It wasn't fair. This is also a kind of discrimination. It was obvious that he was mocking me because I am obese.'
The passenger has filed a complaint against the taxi driver after seeking advice from an association for obese people.
