Badge renewal time

1 year £90

leave it till within 2 weeks of expiry and its £130

3 year badge £283

leave it till within 2 weeks of expiry and its £323

then theres the yearly DVLA mandate ... £5.....its a THREE year mandate each year?

Then theres the DBS checks.....listen to this......

"A DBS check is needed for a 3 year badge, THE FEE FOR THIS IS INCLUDED IN THESE FEES"

But I have a DBS check dated February AND the update service is paid for.....

why does a 3 year badge specifically need a DBS whereas a 1 year does not? its not prophetic is it?....

A 3 year badge should be the same price as a one year one, as for the rest ask your council why they are brainless

Dont you mean a 3 year badge should cost 3x the cost of a 1 year badge?

No he means that the cost should be the same, or at least very close.

You would have thought so!

but apparently they want it every three years! and more in-deph they recently did a survey on it with drivers and the public could also take it..

I think every three years is a bit too much personally, why not make it like PCV and HGV every 5 years?

Ours is every 3 years. Our standard is supposed to be the same as HGV and PCV.

If I ask why a 1 year and 3 year badge cost different to me they will say that the 1 year is subsidised by the 3 year....erm....

what EXACTLY is the act which says they can only charge me what it costs THEM to produce badges?

Ask via FoI for a copy of their last three years profit and loss accounts.
