Firstly most insurers will carry over your NCD Patons will and the taxi centre.
You're more than likely to do about what you're hoping for, but more than likely will need around 50 hours to do so

Most certainly wont carry it over. [-X

Yes i thought they would not thats why i said that . But this guy said they would !!! thats why am expecting to pay £3k

Hi guys
Just looking for some helpful advice
Just about to start a 2 week course (btec) one, as delta have just got funding for this free medical , free course , free badge , free knowledge test ect
I am coming out of the construction industry and usually take home £500 to £800 per week but thats for 7 days work ( hard work !!!!) .
I no i wont get anywhere near to £800 per week on the taxis but i am hoping to take home £400 after paying everything out is this about right , as i am willing to work the fri/sat nights through to the early hours .
I already have a 13 plate insignia SE estate with 25k on the clock which i have had for just over 1 year and think this will be better than a settle car as i am still tied into this car for 3 more years ?
And insurance , i have 8 years no claims with my private insurance but i no i cant carry that over ? i am age 35 with a full clean licence, what do you think the insurance will cost per year ? am thinking £3000 ?
The mrs has a decent job so no huge pressure to earn big bucks , but i am used to hard work and average a 70 hour week in my old job so don't mind putting the hours in on weekends .
Any advise guys or if you could answer any questions
cheers ste

I wish you well.

The more hours you work, the more you will earn. Not rocket science, but some drivers are lazy so and so's and then get humpy when they have no cash.

Use your own car if you can.

Take no notice of the moany old c**** who run down the trade, it's ok and the freedom it offers is good.

Look after the good punters, and blank the s***. In time you will know which is which.

Don't get stuck to one operator, loyalty can be a good thing, but bigger bags of cash are far better.

Am chatty and easy going , but youngish !!! 35 who can look after me self , love driving so am going to give it ago , i always do well in what i do .

I meant delta isn't really a good choice to go for!

Mainly there from my area and the hours i am targeting at weekends are good , i no delta are huge and have thousands of drivers , but if you ask most people in sefton , walton , aintree , and now even going into the liverpool area they say they use delta ,
I only no one delta drive and he has comfortably earned £450 to £550 take home every week for years . So they cant be that bad ?

And to ensure they don't get mugged by punters.

Why mug a pot-less cabby?

Working early on today and i heard on the radio ( juice fm ) that Delta are now looking for Knowsley taxi drivers to join them...so that will be Sefton Liverpool and Knowsley...and you can bet your bottom dollar that Wirral plates will be the next on the Delta radar.....So you never know in the future there may be more drivers chasing fewer jobs = less money.

Rumour has it Delta made inquiries at Wirral Council a few years ago and never took it further. That said from a driver perspective it doesn't make an ounce of difference all the operator companies are much of muchness IMO

you're absolutely right.... it sounds like bollocks... most of my fellow drivers have cars on finance with many different finance providers and thru many of car providers... in last eight years nobody even ask if car is mine or bank's, just pay and fo....

I spoke to the finance co , they said it was fine to use as a taxi and have 1000s of cars out there used as taxis , as settle cars with insurance cost £660to£700 per month ( 4weeks3days ).
A finance car is £200 per month , insurance £200 per month =£400 thats £260 to £300 better off , keep a little aside for repairs .
I can see why people say you better off with your own car .
