As i said i ll let everyone no if i fail or do well .
plenty of work here with delta and that comes from over 30 drivers i have chatted too over this last week .
I just typed in delta in the search engine and woooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww i picked the wrong forum guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
there is 100s and 100s of posts with them getting slated . WHY ?????? are all them 30 drivers all lying to me ? no

The lie is from the company website, it reads like a solicitors bill - all nice rounded numbers.

2000 drivers & 10.000,000 bookings per year..........do the maths!

You say that you are prepared to work long hours, okay fair enough, shall we say 7 days a week for 50 weeks of the year! 10.000,000 bookings ÷ 2000 drivers = 5000 jobs per driver per year. Assuming you take two weeks holiday per annum out in the backgarden/sat on the door step, it will give you (their figures) exactly 100 jobs per week Or if you like 14.287 jobs per day. If you think that is BS, then remember that 1,999 other drivers will have similar overheads with many of them living in their car, hmm.......perhaps you spoke to the 30 drivers who are on the feeding list.

Trust me I have no axe to grind, the lie is out there - it always is.

The number of jobs rises week after week , they done 280k over last weekend , there was and average of 1300 drivers out last weekend , the figures are going up week by week . They have 115 staff in there call centre ( 45 at one times )
Tell me pls apart from uber name another taxi firm that gets them stats and has that amount of staff handling incoming calls ???
I was taking the mick when I said 10 million , it was a figure I grabed out the air , they can't give you a accurate figure as week by week the customer count is rising after they take area by area .
By any chance who am I chatting too here ?????
Do any of you work for delta or have ever worked for delta ????
And too the liverpool lads on here who do you work for ????
As a forum it's very secretive

Times must be fantastic up your way, Is the area experiencing a boom? Other areas are still saying they are on their arse but not Liverpool it seems. If you take the total population of Merseyside and take out the number of children under 18 so that you have the number of adults in the area it would seem that at 280,000 jobs over the weekend that between 25-30% of adults in the area used delta over the weekend. Now if we assume that there are other companys and Hackneys working in the area, What % of the adult population must be out at the weekend and using Taxis and PH?

Grandad your forgetting the number of business workers here out of town , tourists . The destination now attracts more than 52m Day Visitors annually, and the number of Staying Visitors has risen to more than 4.6m. Findings are contained in the latest independent research commissioned by the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
There is concerts , boxing , cruise ships coming in so to answer you question .
Yes liverpool has been on the up for years . Numbers of people living and visiting is rising and rising .
On average 1 million visitors to the city each week that's 142,857.14285714286 per day on top of the population.
We can keep playing the numbers game all day .

No secrets from me, it is well documented that I work as a hack in Cardiff.

Your 10 million that you came up with was not grabbed out of the air! It was probably in the back of your mind that you had read it on the Delta web site - the same as I did.

Right listen to yourself (where have I heard that before).

280,000 jobs last weekend! I classify a weekend from 6 pm Friday until 4.00 am Sunday morning, those hours encompass party time & shopping, a total of 58 hours. This averages 4827 jobs per hour coming in, with "45" operators handling this work! Umm, so how do they, each and every one of them, handle an average of 107 calls/jobs per hour that in actual fact is even higher when you take into account wee breaks and time for nosh?

Oh and don't give me the "you are jealous reply", I really do not care as I have done my time, and my working life is coming to an end. As I say "No axe to grind".

You came on here for advice, on that one the guys/girls are pretty genuine, and know the lie of the land. They also know that apart from London, Manchester, Aberdeen, that the rest of the country is bumping along the bottom i.e whatever is happening in your manor is being mirrored across the country. Most Cities (as the government do) will big them selves up, as such I do not see Liverpool being mentioned (apart from the City of culture  ) across the news in terms of bucking the trend.

If it is as you say, and in fairness you can only go with what you have been told, then the best of luck. Unfortunately the mountain of experience on here from people who have been doing it in some cases for decades, know that it is BS from the operators in order to get YOUR money.

The first two weeks (during which time you will be fed introduction/getting you hooked work) you will think that you are a King......after that it is likely to be down to near serf level.

Try to look at the overall big picture! With wages as they are up and down the country close to National Minimum Wage.....don't you think that everyone already in the taxi game would be clamouring to join such a prestigious outfit to earn such fabulous money? Hmm I wonder why they are not!

You asked for advice and it's been given here in bucket loads from people that don't care who you work for. As it happens you're going to be working for Delta which is bigger than most but much the same in many ways. There are only so many jobs you can do in an hour allowing for driving from A to B for pick ups. If you're busy and your jobs are drop ons then you could perhaps do 5 RTFCs in an hour average take on these £3.50, you could do some small jobs that are bigger than RTFCs but the average take on those is £4/£4.50 or you could perhaps squeeze in 3 £6 jobs. On average you should hope for between £15/£20 per hour on a steady night and perhaps anything up to £30 per hour when it's busy but it won't be busy all night. It's much the same wherever you work, smaller companies have less staff to take work but then they have less drivers that need the work. Delta have a lot of staff but they need a lot of staff they have a lot of drivers. I have 30 drivers making anything from £250 to £325 for 15 hours per week, they work elsewhere the rest of the time. I have drivers that earn up to £900 doing airport work but only 2 of them and some weeks it's only £400 but again they work with other companies too. All I'm saying is don't dedicate all your time to one operator, work smart not long hours and don't forget to get your operators license as Sefton has one of if not the cheapest operator license in the country. If you get your ops license you can advertise for work legit and build it up and then just work for others when you have down time. There are so many options out there it's frustrating to read, when somebody is new to the trade, all the spin the company has been weaving for years.
