Apart from pride I cannot understand the Greeks! By accepting austerity they will be in hock for at least the next 30 years.....not really any good if you are young or old. Imo they should have gotten out and taken it on the nose for say the next ten years, sorted out the economy/tax during that time, and would then have had a better life ahead for themselves in a shorter period.
Just maybe no food in the shops or Drugs in Chemists might have promoted a rethink :?:
The chap was elected on a platform to reject austerity, he got the backing of a referendum to do the same only last week and he still had no option but to break his promises, the same promises that he had no chance of ever delivering. If you look at any tv footage of him going into meetings he is always laughing or smiling. it seems clear that he is totally out of his depth and needs to go.
Methinks theres a back up plan for once the dough is in the Bank .................out of his depth ? time will tell :D

Payback from the Greek Government to the Greek people who have shafted their own country for centuries, the referendum was a con, having toured around Greece and Italy a couple of weeks ago, Mykonos, Chania, Kalamata, Athens and Corfu, Sicily, Rome, Sorento.
I learned that most Greeks and Italians don't pay tax, restaurants, bars, street vendors, TAXI DRIVERS etc I was asked many times if I was paying with cash.

The EU think they have to bail Greece out to stop the likes of Italy and Spain going down the same road, personally I think the EU is doomed, too many countries with nothing to sell and a serious lack of public will to contribute, Greece has become as expensive as Italy but like Italy it's struggling to invest in its infrastructure, most places are not well kept/maintained, Italy is only slightly better, it's only a matter of time before they hit the skids.

If I had a vote I'd have kicked them out, that would send a bigger message to countries like Spain and Italy to get their house in order.
Greece have to sort out their Labour laws, they have to collect tax, it's not going to happen, how the EU think they will achieve that is beyond me, unless of course they have a plan B.

I'm a republican so I say vote No to the EU, do we really want though to be apart of a union with dead wood countries like Greece, Italy and Spain etc, err not for me thanks.

I pay income tax in Spain even though I don't have any income in Spain and I don't live there.
