Hello guys , am happy you care about customers safety and so do I .
If I ever feel tired or feel I can't drive safely then that's the end of my shift .
As already stated my body is used to doing 12 hour plus days using power tools and machinery.
Look guys I have had a great Saturday and Sunday . Am targeting busy times mon to thur 6am to 11am then 3pm to 7pm . Then a few hours in the evening and that's my Monday to Thursday with May be a day off each week .
But yes I am hammering fri , sat , sun . And will be doing 12 hour plus shifts and longer if the money keeps coming in .
Yes it's slower today but I expect that . But sat and sun it's was job after job all day and night . If you don't believe me come and have a go here and then say it's not possible.
We have plenty of holidays each year to recharge and that won't change as the Mrs has a great job .
Keep hating guys and I ll keep smiling.

You clearly wish to be hated which is a rather strange thing to want, but, each to their own. I think the reason the guys on here say what they say is because they've read it all before and newcomers seldom believe them when they advise it won't last. It's the honeymoon period for you and long may that last but reality always kicks in eventually and things will balance out to a more regular income/hours worked ratio but if it doesn't you'll be part of a lucky few. Nobody would hate you for that but gloating as if you know what you're talking about after being in the trade for a weekend is a bit rich unless of course that is your intention. I have a few friends that work at Delta and after the first few months things are much the same for them as they are for other drivers elsewhere. BTW if you make a mistake when tired doing your old job you may hurt yourself and perhaps damage a tool but if you do it whilst driving you may kill somebody and that tool would be you

I have just realized the forum posting times are a hour out thats why i was getting confused thinking he come back at 6-8 pm for a rest.

It is not the forum posting times that are out. it is your settings. You need to go into the user control panel and change the clock for British Summer Time.

Thanks!! i will do that.

Yer I have sounded I little cocky and confident guys but it's a new challenge to me and I always have my trade to fall back on , but hopefully not !
I don't think Saturday and Sunday where lucky as I said all the drivers I spoke to told me it was going to be as busy as that .
But I have dropped down to under £17 an hour today , but am off out again for 4 hours later .
I can see you guys don't really talk about money on here so I won't bother no more .
Am used to the building site so banter and P/$$ taking is everyday life to me .
Anyway thanks for the advice in the first few posts of this thread .

£380 per shift.I know people who work for delta. On the weekends average £20 per hour. During the week £10. 60 hour week to earn £700 - £1000 minus settle and juice £300 - £500 per week. Summer months work drops considerable!. Why? People go on holiday abroad. Kids off school. 60, 000 students go home. July and august are the quietest month.

380 quid for a sat in your first week, on the third weekend of the month. I smell slight exageration there.

I'll talk money also, busy Friday and sats around here yourare extremely pleased to hit average 20-22 per hour. usually not between 5-7pm and 9-10, so you have to take more (30) during the busy hours to compensate. this can usually be done with a few out of town fares with jobs coming back the opposite way. weekly days and nights if you hit 15 per hour your doing well, but more likely to be 10 or sometimes less. the next six weeks will be tough as no one has school contracts so everyone will be logged in the system more meaning more cars to share the work.
with massive expenses of around 300 quid per week for most drivers it takes most of the weekend to earn your outlay.
I'd say most drivers round here are lucky to see 350 take home for 60-70 hour weeks

This of course is due to the nature of the job meaning greedy bases can flood the circuit with unskilled immigrants Who have no problems wiTh the conditions, it's either taxiing or takeaways for them.

I doubt very much if this poster exists as a driver.

It reminds me very much of a gov/Inland rev tactic used with milkmen many years ago.

The IR decided that MM were not declaring their tips and lamped them with something like "We think you have £500 per year in tips - and we will tax you on that basis". The bottom line being; many came forward stating that they had nothing like that, in many cases stating that they only got £200/250 per annum! The IR was very happy with that, because whereas they were getting nothing - they were now getting extra money off of each and every MM = happy days...for them.

My point being is this; this apparent driver has touched on extreme money and extreme hours, generally sussing out different areas and what drivers are prepared to do and earn - I would say no more as you are virtually being bugged.

Call me paranoid if you wish - who said that?
