What can a council charge a PH or HC for by way of plates, badges, etc?

is it JUST the cost in both cases?

was considering why a 1 year badge is £90 when a 3 year badge is £240

Have you asked? If you have and you are not happy with the answer ask your ward Councillor to ask. Don't expect the answer that you are looking for though. It will be more complicated than that. I have spent the last 4 years trying to get the answers I have been looking for and I still haven't got them.

if i avoid the question of outright cos but stick to why a 3 badge costs MORE than 3 times a 1 year badge it might confuse them.....confuses me anyway

and why the cost goes up 2 weeks from an expiry date
and why the badge fee (3 years) includes a DBS check when they neednt do one....

Quote:
1 year £90
leave it till within 2 weeks of expiry and its £130

3 year badge £283
leave it till within 2 weeks of expiry and its £323

I wouldnt mind so much if the 3 year badge was twice the cost of a 1 year and no DBS needed if 1 was current

The cost of processing the badge, and the cost of processing and enforcement for the plate.

Ask them for their costings, Granddad's bloody long post re fees is a good read for starters.

I am not sure that they can include enforcement. There was a judgement.

I've just realised this judgement wasn't (until now) in TDO's judgement database section.

Since 2008 the hackney carriage and private hire trades in Sefton have experienced an unprecedented level of relatively low licence fees, for example typical fees for a drivers licence for a three year period are as follows:

• Halton £168.50
• Knowsley £235.00
• Liverpool £150.00
• St Helens £180.00
• Sefton £57.60
• Wirral £129.00

I think the nub of the question is, is a 3 year badge more expensive to produce than a 1 year badge

it cant be can it

though id expect something like....."we average out costs across the badge range"
