Hello and thank you everybody !!
Apparently there are 2 types of thermostats, hot climate and cold climate; I’ve ordered the hot climate one (opens at 82º). I’ll fit it once it arrives and I’ll let you know of the results.
On another note
I have another TX1, 2.7 diesel coming over to me here later this week, my brother had a quick look at it and told me that it has the following issues.
1. When you drive the car, although it works fine and registers the speed etc. the speedo makes a clicking sound which is quite annoying, I don’t know if the speedo cable can be disconnected from the speedo head without removing the speedo. Is there a common fault, do you think it’s the speedo or the cable that might be at fault?
2. The car has left a small puddle of oil on the driveway; it looks like it could be coming from the pas box, but it’s hard to say because there is a lot of oil all over the underside of the engine compartment. Any known culprits that I should look for first?
3. The car takes a long time to fire up, apparently it turns over for a quite a long time, almost fires up, then continues cranking over and finally fires up coughing and spluttering, once it gets going it does seem to idle well. Any ideas?
I realize I might be asking some silly questions, but I trust you’ll be patient with me. I’m just trying to get some info of possible or known issues before I take the car into the Spanish mechanics.
Thank you all for your past help and thanking you in advance.

1 To disconnect speed cable from head, stick your hand up behind and squeeze the plastic casing and pull
2 Steam clean the cab underneath to find leak
3 Change the fuel filter first, then get heater plugs checked
4 Id get your brother to stick it in a taxi garage before you get it over to you, probably easier.
