Uber is failing all over the UK .
They have had open nights and adverts here in Liverpool and have managed to get zero drivers !!!!!

They do have drivers in Liverpool, I've seen them. I was also at one of their meetings and drivers like the idea even if they don't like Uber. Lets be honest if the work starts coming in it's worth the effort.

I don't think Sefton council should be telling you anything about Uber tbh it's not your business and perhaps they are of the same opinion. They did have passengers in them unless the drivers are taking each other around and as one of my favourite people from Sefton often says 'slowly, slowly catcha monkey'. As for the taxman knowing what I earn it's not a problem, if I earn it I pay it, I may need to use a hospital or something that my tax £s provides me with so it's money well spent imo. I think it's rich that with one hand people complain that there are no services whilst at the same time trying to avoid paying tax

That's people for you Toots. If you want to avoid paying tax, that is fine providing it is done legally such as spending the profit on a new car. That is good business. Evading tax is another matter and illegal.

As a self employed joiner over the last 18 years working all over the UK earning very high earnings and paying 40 % tax when I went over 40k I think I have paid a lot of tax over the years .
It will be nice to be paying hardly none now !!!!!!!

Pretty certain Uber have more licensed drivers in London than anyone else.

The app is so easy to use, be in no doubt it will thrive nationally in time.

Download the app, and you will see what I have done, and that a dozen or so vehicles in Liverpool available, and then disappearing when they have got jobs.

You can watch them pop up, and then get booked and pop off.

Or they're false images as was exposed by several uber drivers in a newspaper recently.

Ghost cars which give the impression there's a minicab in your street. :---)

I'm sure there's many a Joiner and other hands on tradesmen that pay very little by way of taxation relevant to real income...Lots of little and not so little cash in hand Jobs etc.

We owner drivers have to declare ever penny we make as the Mileage Odometer records every Mile and the Taxman can calculate your taxable Income from that. They even estimate your Tips because those are Taxable as well.

It's best be honest with the Taxman and only fair that you do so.

I nearly booked one, and the face looked very scouse.

Down here we have an odd one or two floating about, but there are always plenty at Gatwick.

Last night I was waiting at Gatwick for a mate, and a group of passengers next to me booked two Uber cars going back to London, the booking took about 20 seconds to do.

I bet Gatwick cabs must be losing loads of work, the greedy so and so's.
