Oh I remember it well. It was the year of our first pub and a drought was in force! Water drawn into the pub sink that morning for glass washing, was the same water being used hours later after countless uses. It was that bad we were washing them in pure Or if you like it unpure saliva - nobody died because of it..........(as far as I know) :D

It's something to do with the gulf stream being to far south. If it stays there during the winter we're in for a bad one as it will pull the cold air down from the north.

1976 oh yes indeedee

First daughter born moved into my first council home with the wife #-o found meself in a printers in Primrose Hill yep that primrose hill where they got the contract to print the books to stick yer green shield stamps in [remember them?]

The company was owned run by an ex Submarine Commander with a multitude of medals who used to get on the p!ss with the dook of edingbourgh anyway they needed millions of these books and couldnt figure out how to print them in the hours available anyway we negotiated threw away the rule book and knocked em out on !job and finish! deal which earnt us absolute fortunes and gave us the weekends if we fancied it to go down Fleet Street for even more ££££££££££££'s

Primrose Hill was and is crawling with delectable young ladies "au pair girls " 8) 8) and many boozers with them "wall to wall" not that i was involveld in any of that   it was roasting hot and clothing shall we say minimal one of our guys in our chapel was as a sideline running an escort agency in SOHO and the Submarine commander soon cottoned onto using some of the darlings to assist chatting up many morons in the Record industry so we banged in a couple more presses and went into Printing Record covers which of course eqaulled even more £££££££££££££££'s and us dumping Fleet Street for a while ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,we had a permanent TAB in the nearest boozer 148 paces from our works entrance   Oh happy days had to chin a couple of the NGA minders who wouldnt tow the line   i was a lout in those days  a fabulous year all round probably cleared in me mit £25000 in 6 months was rather good in 1976

Anyway the Submarine man had been knocking all the suppliers of Paper Ink even the electricity and had the baliffs on him so it came tumbling down #-o #-o he admitted to me that had he realised the strokes we could pull he would have paid the bills and built it even more .............................but unfortunately it was too late so he did a bunk and so did i

What a summer went Bournemouth and made me fist visit to Dean Court with me old man ...............ive written that up on here in football thread oh happy days =D> =D> =D> =D>

Next stop was the Radio Times but thats another story
