Taxi Driver Online

Is anyone on this "system" and can tell me of any pros and cons ?

I've been on it since its launch.

What would you like to know?

There's a new taxi app with no large set up fees it does tracking job allocation from office to driver & driver availability etc. All you pay for is the messaging.

I'm not sure what you call this system but they are sending me the details & all the info today

Another driver asked me if I knew much about it , which I don't. He's been contacted by another company called "Go cab" with the intention of setting up here in Chester. I believe they are a similar "system" and just wondered if they were anygood. Since you've been on it for so long I take it it's worthwhile ?

Get taxi, or Gett as its now known are ok, its just another string to my bow really, same with when I was on Hailo.

It can keep me busy in areas where you wouldn't get a street hail or have ranking facilities. I'm not sure how its taken off in other UK cities but its quite established down in London.

You get quite a lot of former Addison Lee and more recently, Uber users on Gett who got sick of clueless Non English speaking drivers who can't navigate around London, on the downside these people still think I'm driving them across London for 78p, and that's not the sort of punter base I want to serve.

The other downside is that they now take 10% of all fares (not gratuities), compared with a previous set fee and free weekends like they used to do, but as I say, they're ok

There seems to be a new app out on a weekly basis at the mo, from Gett, to Hailo, Maaxi, Cab app, taxi too ....... but I think the market will eventually settle down to Gett and Failo. Lets face it, there's no app in the world that's as quick as walking out a shop and sticking a hand up.

It's not much use in the burbs...... I logged in every day for two weeks and was not offered one single job....... Now deleted

Can anyone recommend some cheap taxi software with tracking

define cheap? How much do you want to pay? What is your budget per car and how many cars?
What is cheap to one chap may seem expensive to another.

Do what some sector drivers do, select future orders and just work up town!

Gett deny this, but I see it more and more.

The 41 series seem particularly good at this.

I'm just looking for something to assign jobs to the drivers and they should be able to accept or decline then click a button to say if they're available or unavailable, and I should be able to see the statuses of the drivers on my controller screen in the office & it should come with tracking

What should I expect to pay per driver per week for something like this

Simply delete the Apps not connected to a circuit, make them unreliable and the punter will either walk out into the street to hail a cab or most likely phone a cab, the punter of an App like Uber&Gett arn't going to disappear they are going to just seek another way of getting a taxi, this way we make the money we are entitled to, hit delete and save our Trade ffs.

There will be a cyber-circuit app, any hack (on a base or not) will take it, it will show how many are clear in the local area, give a choice of vehicle type, and have a fare calculator built in, it will hail a cab by sending the request to any clear locally or book for a later date/time and get a booking reply, ASAP bookings will have in-built text/email "car is ready" messages....

it gets closer daily


with enough promotion the base cars will start taking more off it than thru the physical bases, they will leave the physical-bases as the work load moves to the cyber-base

I don't understand this comment at all. If you have an app and pay for jobs completed how is that different to paying a circuit operator for the chance of a job

Its different because he pays on results only, not as a gamble on results


basically most on a circuit (generalising) dont with to pay a fixed amount upfront not understanding that the base has made investments in a base/equipment and staff, many only want to pay (or think they should only pay) when they see results

Some bases want rent monday mornings, at the start of a week, some on a saturday night at the end, some charge by the job, some charge by commission
