Pure spin by Gett too entice more drivers to sign up, it's easy to play with numbers and quote figures like percentages but it's fecking hard to see them playing with us cabbies livelihoods, Gett are using price surging to justify discounting, do they think the public are stupid and really believe punters will buy in to this long term, do Gett think drivers are really that stupid too, I say 90%+ of all fares in London and many other cities are fares of less than 6 miles, these are the fares Gett are after, these are the fares that most of us drivers rely on, Gett are no different to Uber in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they where both owned by Google, their end game being total control of the taxi market, once they have that it's on to driverless taxis.

You know what gets me though, the weak willed cabbie who is aiding the one percent who's only objective is total control of everything.

If we just stood up and tell them where to go, if we just don't sign up to them, the funny thing is, the work, jobs remain the same, they are messing drivers up using the numbers game, drivers are swallowing, without them though we'd be making more money, sign up and we make less, they have no limit to how many can sign up, more =s dilution of work, Apps have a place in the market but it will never be the dominant way to book or hail a cab, don't support these extreme profiteers, support the local app that doesn't ask for card details up front, reliability and service will win the day not discounts.

Don't swallow the Gett crap either they are both playing the game of the capitalist devil.

Reggie I am totally against Uber and I do not think you can fight them alone, you had your chance to get together so lets see what the future brings

Point is Flower, Gett are no different to Uber, they are both extreme capitalist's aiding the one percent, if our trade wants to sell out for less money then that's out with one man's control, in Edinburgh we are lucky, 2 co-ops are strong and our members are extremely loyal, on the we had our chance, I'm now thinking we are lucky not to have taken that chance, 2 will always be better than 1, if a punter is un happy with one company they will then go with the other, punters have no loyalty, they just want a taxi and a reliable one at that, they are happy to pay the going rate, we don't get many complaints concerning cost.

I could just sit back and relax on that but the trade UK wide is selling out and accepting less for it, also Gett and Uber operate without borders, we get Uber&Gett customers travelling to Edinburgh now, there is no Uber service up here yet, that's why I offer an opinion on this national forum, if our trade nationally wants to sell out then that is the threat to Edinburgh I fear the most.

Our trade in Edinburgh holds a good set of cards at the moment, how we play them though is up to us, let's not just fold'em because the big hitters are sniffing around with some fancy number crunching, I say don't fear the numbers, let's just Tighten the Grip we have.

So you think the trade in Edinburgh should just belong to drivers that are between 2 Co-Ops because that's how it is now and drivers should pay what those Co-Ops demand because that is the way it is? Why is there no room for Apps that do not belong to either Co-Op? It doesn't have to be Uber or Gett but is there room there for one?

Ph have their own App too toots, the trade works fine in Edinburgh, a street car is called that through choice, the door to the co-ops has alway's been open if a street car wishes to join, our co-ops make no demands that are not agreed upon by the members, only have a problem with outsider apps that's only interest is extreme profiteering at our trades expense, our Co-ops don't make any money out of our App just the drivers toots, that's all we are toots.

Hi Reggie there is a big difference between Gett and Uber.
Uber break the law every time a customer hires them, the customer does not see there bill until the car is long gone which means they could be surge charged without knowing.
Gett only work with licensed cabby's, yes they have there promos but only to the benefit of there customers and drivers.

I am sorry Reggie I do not agree 2 are better than 1.
I like Toots do not agree that a driver should pay 7k to join a company giving the city a service whether it be national or not.
Both these company's give benefits but not on the scale of there competitors.

A lot of drivers believe these co-op company's are there employers that is why they are so loyal which is a great thing providing the company can keep up with the times.

As I said Reggie time will tell and actions speak louder than words.
If Gett become successful and achieve 900 black cabs then the whole city will benefit, if they fail it will be business as usual 2 company's at 7k a shot.

What I do believe is Reggie that Gett's presence in the city is stalling Ubers arrival, I do think that if Gett had not been established, Uber would have been going strong in the City and you would have been singing another tune.

The black cab trade are fighting Uber in London and have been for a long time now and Gett are 100% behind them, Gett have 9000 Black cabs on the app now in London and have only been there 4 years.

Lets see what the future brings to the independent businessmen ( black cab drivers)

I think it's obvious what's stalling Uber's presence and Gett's growth in Edinburgh, it's the strength of our trade, our app is way ahead of Gett, combine all the taxi companies with an App in Edinburgh and Gett won't last either, Edinburgh is a limited market as a whole, the App market is only a small part, our two co-ops arn't slow investing in the latest technology, I say Uber&Gett prefer the easier targets like the big cities as London is but again it's all about reliability, if our trade stays reliable Edinburgh will be very tough to crack.

You've always been able to haggle to a certain extent on longer trips.

Do you think I'd lose a Birmingham or a Manchester from the Flyers because I'd insist on the metered price? Get real!

And if it generated more work in the quieter parts of the night when traffics flowing, bring it on.

Reggie actions speak's louder than words Uber and Gett are poles apart, City and PHC are not and everybody that gets of a plane can see it.

I am afraid your app is not way ahead of Gett, but who cares lets see what happens in the future
