Pure spin by Gett too entice more drivers to sign up, it's easy to play with numbers and quote figures like percentages but it's fecking hard to see them playing with us cabbies livelihoods, Gett are using price surging to justify discounting, do they think the public are stupid and really believe punters will buy in to this long term, do Gett think drivers are really that stupid too, I say 90%+ of all fares in London and many other cities are fares of less than 6 miles, these are the fares Gett are after, these are the fares that most of us drivers rely on, Gett are no different to Uber in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they where both owned by Google, their end game being total control of the taxi market, once they have that it's on to driverless taxis.

You know what gets me though, the weak willed cabbie who is aiding the one percent who's only objective is total control of everything.

If we just stood up and tell them where to go, if we just don't sign up to them, the funny thing is, the work, jobs remain the same, they are messing drivers up using the numbers game, drivers are swallowing, without them though we'd be making more money, sign up and we make less, they have no limit to how many can sign up, more =s dilution of work, Apps have a place in the market but it will never be the dominant way to book or hail a cab, don't support these extreme profiteers, support the local app that doesn't ask for card details up front, reliability and service will win the day not discounts.

Don't swallow the Gett crap either they are both playing the game of the capitalist devil.

Here's a list of 400 billionaire in the U.S.A
Surely no one is stupid enough not to work out how they got there, they got there by manipulating you and me, the masses, our trade is next, if we allow it of course, then the rich Gett richer and we the cabbie Gett Ubererd and become poorer, FACT.

I hear its very popular in Edinburgh.

Surely the driver owned circuits aren't feeling the pinch?

As for the promotion, its doing very well.

Not feeling any pinch GBC, Gett can't provide the reliability that the two co-ops currently provide, as for the promotions, can't blame the punters for taking them up and trying the service but again how long is a punter willing to wait for a cab? I know of one Gett driver who has rejected/knocked back near a 1000 jobs because it involved a big drag. During busy times, Gett drivers will work the street rather than drag to cover work, those willing to drag are those currently driving in the Two Co-ops, anyway the promotions can only go on for so long, what happens when Gett realise they are not sustainable in Edinburgh, the market is limited.

I think it's obvious what's stalling Uber's presence and Gett's growth in Edinburgh, it's the strength of our trade, our app is way ahead of Gett, combine all the taxi companies with an App in Edinburgh and Gett won't last either, Edinburgh is a limited market as a whole, the App market is only a small part, our two co-ops arn't slow investing in the latest technology, I say Uber&Gett prefer the easier targets like the big cities as London is but again it's all about reliability, if our trade stays reliable Edinburgh will be very tough to crack.

Reggie actions speak's louder than words Uber and Gett are poles apart, City and PHC are not and everybody that gets of a plane can see it.

I am afraid your app is not way ahead of Gett, but who cares lets see what happens in the future

Cheap Dig there Flower, We are operating at the airport the way the airport wishes, are you suggesting some kind of custards last stand protest at being thrown together.

The PH should be out of public view at the airport, not in direct sight along with the booking office, the hacks should be where the ph are

Agreed Skippy but the booking office wasn't allowed to be built on our side, the Airport dictate to all concessions at the Airport, we just have to accept the way it is and it's a huge un-discounted earner.

Here's one though based on your post.

What happens if the mini cabs who normally do the 90% of jobs above 6 miles go lower than that proposed by Gett? How low are Gett willing to go and at what point do the drivers start knocking the work back because it's simply not worth it.

Once the discount settles for the 6 mile and above journey's, Gett will then turn their attention to the under 6 mile journeys, again using the quiet periods as the excuse.

My opinion is these fares will be there regardless of who is taking the calls, Gett drivers seem to be swallowing a slow suicide pill, they are falling right in to the extreme I'm your pal capitalist trap but hey I may be wrong

Time will tell Reggie, competition is good, save your words and Gett your sleeve rolled up.
I am not predicting the outcome, but I would never rank alongside PHC no matter what the conditions were.

£7000 to join a circuit, PLUS weekly fees?!!!

I'd say that's unsustainable, never mind Gett promotions.

6k and if I decide to leave I can sell my position and get my 6k back and there is nothing wrong with the Co-Op model, fees allow us to compete at the highest level, the extra charges I amass example call out charges and extra person charges account for most of my fees, I hear a Gett driver doesn't get a call out charge? Up here it's 80p plus 20p per person above 2 passengers, I have a 6 seater, that's £1.60 per 6 seater job, £1.40 per 5 seater down to a pound a job for a 3 seater job, that's over and above the flag, so my fees are not really significant but are significant in maintaining our market share.

Simply number crunching

Yeah, so did ours.

Run in's, extra's plus the meter drop. taxis turning up with £6 on the meter before you even get in.

That's why punters now use get, hailo etc who start the meter 2 mins after arrival .

It took a few years, and I heard similar things from the circuit 'bosses' and faces that's contained in your current posts, but they get you in the end, because at the end of the day, its not the taxi drivers who decide what circuit or app they're going to use, its the customer.

Cheap wins, sad but true. Facts and prices eventually find their way onto facebook, social media etc, and if they think a get taxi is cheaper than a Com Cab or City cabs or Brum Cabs, off they toodle.

I was up at easter, I used get taxi (as it was then) as I convert some jobs into credit on my personal account, an E7 turned up, it had door logos, they weren't get ones. :-"

Anything wrong with moving the hacks outside the office and the PH to the outside so they are not that obvious

I am afraid that was a weak answer from you Reggie.
Your loyalty to your company makes you rank alongside PHC and it is all about money, yep PHC do not pay 6k a shot to rank there.

loyalty is with your taxi and your business, taxi company's whether you pay 6k or not are there to do a job and if they don't you move on.
There has not been much competition for you until now.

As for the PHC being on every corner is the fault of the authorities and the black cab driver. If you valued your business then you should stand up for it and fight PHC that blatantly break the license laws but doing it individually will get you nowhere but as a large group will get you everywhere. That is one of the reasons all the black cabs should be under one roof, it will get respect back into the trade.
City and Central had a big opportunity to do it and shot themselves in the foot and the black cabs suffered, now we have an app company that has been in the city 5 months and are growing very fast, they have over 300 drivers on there app and getting bigger every week.

When the black cab trade is being discussed at the council chambers or other such venues then it should be the black cab drivers not commercial company's around the table whether they be co-op or not.

The black cab drivers in London represent themselves that is why they can fight against Uber and other PHC company's.
I have not seen one PHC driver prosecuted in Edinburgh for illegally plying for hire, but it happens every day and we allow it because we work as individuals and if we do say anything you become a troublemaker

Black cab drivers under one roof in Edinburgh is the answer and they represent themselves by an independent union to get respect back into the trade, it will not happen in my time......or will it happen ?

The meters the maximum you can charge.

You've always been able to haggle to a certain extent on longer trips.

Do you think I'd lose a Birmingham or a Manchester from the Flyers because I'd insist on the metered price? Get real!

And if it generated more work in the quieter parts of the night when traffics flowing, bring it on. =D>

Bollox long trips has always been the same me mate a Hack used to do Southampton for £300 from Heathrow but doing Euston to Westminster for less than the meter NEVER AS YOU WELL KNOW ............................UNTIL KNOW ....................SO LONDON HACKS GROVELL #-o UBER WILL LAUGHING THEMSELVES SILLY ..................................WELL DONE LTDA TO$$ERS!!!

WTF are you going on about?

I've never heard of £300 in my life to Southampton, the guides £200.

Discounts are on one app for journeys over 6 miles, no ones forcing any driver to complete such a trip. Uber laughing? I'd be laughing too if drivers were taking people around London for £1.20 minus a 20% cut.

Have a drink.
