Trident! fantastic, only ten trillion quid to renew whilst you can't get an ambulance, find a hospital or get through to the police.

Its great having it, you can smile just before your skins burnt back to your bones and your eyes melt, knowing the people on the other side in Korea or Russia or India .... will be equally incinerated. How gratifying.

But its a deterrent to stop this happening they cry!!! ........ Yeah, that's gonna stop some looney like the Ayatollah of Kumranabad or Koreastan attacking us with one, they don't care!

For those of you who are worried about us not having a bat or two, take a gander at this and pick your country, or if you like take a trip around the world armories........It opens on Switzerland but covers most of the big boys.

Trevor I take your point. But! what might have been, and what actually is - is two different things.

My take on a bad day when everything is against me is this; I don't live in Afghanistan,I don't live in Iraq, I don't live in Syria and for that I am thankful, it helps me very much to put my problems (or my perceived problems) into perspective. Having said that it still does stop me from trying to improve my life, as we cannot dwell on what might have been. If you did that you would never get out of bed.

Hey still no takers.........

A question for all..........Who would like to have Trident parked next to the house that they and their family live in, knowing full well that a world power will have a red circle around that neck of the woods in the event of someone pushing a button.......just a thought?

I guess that should shut up the we should keep Trident brigade, I guess that Corbyn is not such a fool after all.

I spent the first fifteen years of my life pretty much like that. Lincoln is five miles from RAF Scampton, and five miles from RAF Waddington, both Cold War V Bomber bases. Joined the Royal Navy and ended up living within a few feet of Polaris missiles. I don't glow in the dark btw.

I think that it is fair to say that apart from the politicians who want it but also live live a million miles away from anything dangerous/toxic, by that I also include socially deprived areas/socially challenged people etc,the only ones who really bang the drum on wanting them........are the people who rely on a living from it. If you asked anyone who did not stand to gain from it financially, then I guess it would be a big Noooooooooooooo.

I am not out to outgun or nuke you  Shutting the mines in Wales did not leave us prosperous, in fact quite the opposite, but it is a darned site prettier and a million miles safer.

I don't rely on it for a living and I don't stand to gain from it financially but it is a yes from me.
