Never understood hackney drivers who think theyre a cut above. We all do the same job (take customer front a to b). Ive done both and theres no difference.

theyre forever telling us they are NOT a taxi company, merely a technology provider, but wait till the ones currently providing these cars realise how much theyre going to lose in revenue

Thats not strictly true

In Birmingham (for one) Uber is a licensed PH operation ONLY recruiting brum plated PHV's

same here in glasgow, the point is the big p/h companies here also rent out vehicles,as uber dont have any vehicles they can only get owner/drivers to work for them, who have been told if they go to uber they will never work for any private hire company in the city, ever again, the p/h companies have got together to fight against uber and are putting on a united front

Storm in a teacup, the latter comment may be of interest to the monopolies commission

All a PH base has to do is KEEP the drivers they have, in times gone by when there was a shortage of labour (unlike today) this meant better wages and conditions, or in this case maybe lower rents and fair/equal treatment of all drivers (feck me, shock horror)

What is the difference between 20 PH bases and 1 UBER and 21 PH bases?

Uber isnt the bogey man, they cant carry off owner drivers in the night, if the OD doesnt want to move he wont, if hes getting cacked on daily he will, who do you blame, his base or Uber?

you really must be incredibly naive ,they see uber as a threat so have told anyone who joins them,no coming back.
the big 3 p/h companies have 75% of the p/h cars, roughly 2500 cars, its their choice wether to rent a radio to them or not.
you really dont know anything about private hire in glasgow,do you?as i said before google it.im sure you will find it informative
