Well it looks like the 'panic' crew are out in force, running supplies into the ground.

Most people in front of me tonight at the local garage were putting under a tenner in to top up their tanks.

If it gets like 2000 i'll have an unplanned garden landscape week.

I'm planning to go out shortly just to put my normal fill in, I couldn't be bothered queuing up a couple of hours ago.

These plonkers caused enough trouble last time round, and to no benefit to anyone, you'd have thought they would have learnt their lesson.

There is no evidence to say that there definitely will be a blockade of refineries, but with all the panic, supplies are running very thin and there's no way companies are going to be able to refill to the normal levels quickly.

This means that the people who are worried about the possible shortage are creating a DEFINITE shortage that will take some time to return to normal.

Tonight, I've seen huge queues at petrol stations, most of which are now out of petrol and have little diesel left.

Irresponsible drivers are forming dangerous queues, even becoming stationary on roundabouts. This sort of careless attitude is making life extremely difficult for other road users and the emergency services.

People like this are going to encourage retailers to introduce a '£10 / £20 maximum fill - up policy'. This, of course, is definitely going to cause problems for the taxi and private hire trades.

They are really wasting it in Dunfermline, Fife.

Sussex Police said they were called to Tesco in Eastbourne after long queues led to traffic jams on the main road.

Campaigners have said there may be protests in Dover. The town's MP Gwyn Prosser said it was no surprise because the port was vital to the economy.

"It is one of the busiest ferry ports in the world," he said.

"Whenever there's a demonstration people tend to focus on Dover which is sad, because we put up with French protests for a long time and are always complaining bitterly at the disruption to legitimate trade.

"It would be a shame if, on this occasion, the farmers or the hauliers chose the port of Dover to vent their spleen.

"We have got to allow a peaceful protest but if vehicle owners are using lorries and tractors to blockade the port and stop the free flow of trade which is part of the EU agreement, then firm action should be taken.

"It's a matter of striking the right balance and I'm sure Kent Police will do that."

A garage in Langton Green on the Kent-Sussex border was one of the first in the region to hit the £1 a litre mark last week, when it pushed prices up to £1.04.

The cost of fuel in the South East continued to rise with a Kent petrol station charging £1.09 a litre.

Prices increased sharply after Hurricane Katrina shut oil rigs and refineries in the US.

I filled up my motor and spare tanker no problem.

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a
certain day" campaign that was going around last April or
May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they
knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to
buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than itwas a problem for them.

BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan
that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that
the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us
to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take
aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the
market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up
more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only
way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if
we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol!
And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the
idea:

For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY petrol from
the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and
BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be
inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices
the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have
an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Esso and
BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't
whimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll
explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you
send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 =00)...and those 300
send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 =,000) ... and so
on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of
people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten
friends each, then 30 million people will have been
contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed
it.....THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's
all. (and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take?

If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within
one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably
be contacted within the next 8days!!! I'll bet you didn't
think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting
together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to
you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY
LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE. It's easy to
make this happen.
Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,

Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and
Esso.

but the tossers are blocking the roads by the petrol station.

At least if fuel goes up we can adjust our fares without having to go to the PCO with a begging bowl.
