Driver could take it to the police station, make a complaint about the runner and leave the phone as evidence

if the guy asks about the phone say youve handed it in....

thats exactly what i said tbh, hes not bothered about the phone, what he is going to do is wait for the call ( believe it or not , that phone aint rang since sat ), tell him he wants his original fare & that the meter will be on from when he sets off to his house , if the bloke don't agree, well hes off to Edinburgh soon so will hand it in there lol lol

I think I'd have threw it in the River Eden - I threw one in the Gulf of Mexico, and another in the Atlantic when in Ireland golfing, and one in a River in Scotland when golfing, it fills me with an enormous sense of well being ;)
