got nothing ( although paid in to a pension for 13 years about 20 years ago, doubt it will be worth be worth anything now ) the state pension for me & the wife will suffice, it will have to :lol: & i certainly wont work a day more than i have to on the taxis , i fooking hate it :lol:

This isnt work

Not after a 4ft coal seam 300yds long

Not after Businesspost 200 drops a day

Not after a Tesco warehouse picking 300 items an hour

Taxi driving a flipping vacation

I wouldn't recommend going from work to retirement just like that unless you have a major hobby or plans to travel the world to occupy you. People tell me it isn't all it's cracked up to be and the sudden change in income will be a shock also

My advice keep your hand in and do a bit part time to earn enough extra cash for a descent holiday once a year. You'll find that once you don't have to do it for a full time living it's not so bad

When my dad retired he decided to get himself a hobby. He decided to breed budgies. God knows where that came from but he did it for years. His other hobby that he carried on for years was Council baiting. He would take up any cause and take the Council on. it is a good job that I don't take after him. :lol: :lol: :lol: 2 years ago we took him to Spain for a weeks holiday. He hasn't come back yet. He is 90 next March, fit as a fiddle and still enjoying life to the full.

a driver on our base replied to my comment that I needed fewer hours now im 60 with......"Im 70, im doing 60 hours a week and ending up with £400 (heres the best bit) Ive 3 pensions, I dont touch the taxi money i just bank it"
