The deregulation ACT is now making MP.s at last realise that it has created more problems than it has solved(nil).

Pauline Latham Conservative MP for Mid Derbyshire raised concerns in House of Commons,Cheshire East Council are raising concerns about their licensing district being invaded by out of town licensees and are contacting all MPs in the region about their concerns.

This proves that the idiots in power should have taken notice of the TAXI trade representatives when they were made instead of ignoring the majority of them.

Hackney plate holders have been doing this for years. Licensing in one area and working on a PH circuit in another. This has nothing to do with the deregulation act. All that the deregulation act changed was that a private hire operator can sub contract work to another private hire operator in another district. This is safer than any old out of town hackney doing work.

This was orchestrated by private hire operators and persons who were private hire vehicle drivers obtaining a hackney plate issued by Councils with low standards,Rossendale and Berwick when it was in existence to name two.

Genuine Hackney carriage proprietors/drivers do not provide their services through a private hire operator who after all is only allowed to take a booking for a private hire vehicle(1976 Act)

Are you sure that's true as the PH operator I work under has about half a dozen local hackneys doing private hire jobs priced off the fare chart not the meter.

they can take the jobs but should use the meter, not charging MORE than meter but can charge less (off the chart)
