Every trip to the airport this year has been a total nightmare not just for me but most of my drivers and is now at the point my drivers are all constantly refusing airport work.

Why well because every motorway in the Uk is gridlocked with huge amounts of extra traffic as people make far more use of their cars with the cheaper fuel leading to a severe pandemic of crashes and resulting road closures and hold ups. Heathrow now takes 5 to 6 hours round trip every time instead of 4. Birmingham now 4 hours instead of 3. Stansted is now at least an extra 30 minutes. As for EMA well anything up to 6 hours for 40 miles courtesy of the road works capital of Britain Melton Nowaythroughbray !

It might be costing less for the fuel but journey times now have gone through the roof since new year

I don't think it's anything to do with the cost of fuel, the problem is there's to many cars on the road. They've made the driving tests to easy to pass, they've made access to cars more easier it's a plethora of things, it's nothing to do with the price of fuel.

before fuel prices came down the roads were busy but not choked now they are choked with traffic people are definitely using their cars more and rail fares have just gone up it would be interesting to see if over crowding on trains has eased

You should detour around Melton. Go along Norfolk drive, turn left at the end and then right on Kirby lane keep going until you get to Kirby Bellars and then turn right to Asfordby. Then you are back on route. It is about the same distance.

The only trouble with that one is so many drivers know it and I normally come in past the former pedigree factory to avoid all the lorries !

If you are coming in from the Colsterworth road, cut across to Eastwell through Waltham. Turn left at Eastwell and follow road to Shoby crossroads. You are back on route.
What do you mean "former Pedigree factory"? It is still producing dog and cat food the same as always. The name has been changed to reflect the company that has owned it for about 40 years or so. Mars.

Add to the fact the stupidly low speed limits which slows things up.

I've just travelled from Peterborough to Sutton In Ashfield. The A617 from Newark to Mansfield is a joke, I reckon it took me the same time to travel that stretch than what it did from Peterborough to Newark, idiots in cars doing 30mph when it's a 50mph then it drops down to 30MPH near Kelham Hall, the idiots in cars doing 20MPH.

Ive had my worst return run for ages tonight, 4 oldies who seemed intent on killing me, 1 drove at 30 in a 60, indicating on bends, 2 tried the old "im going right but ill try the left lane and quick cut up" routine and a BMW (had to be) who cut across me from my left to take my lane at the M42/A5 island...

its not fuel prices mate, its pi55 poor driving

I thought it was sold in the mid 1990's I used to occassionally pick up the MD who lived at Wothorpe and take him to the international HQ near the Waltham transmitter he moved on when the company was sold

What a [edited by admin] state Scotland would be in if they had voted for independence. Oil revenues down from £8 billion to £100 million.

The centre at Waltham is the international centre for pet nutrition. Not the HQ. The company has always been owned by MARS and still is. The MARS name has only been used by the company for the last few years though. The American petfood division was called Kal Kan as seen in the 1985 film Back to the Future.
Apart from the obvious chocolate made by MARS there are other human foods made by them. One of the most well known is Uncle Bens Rice.

and my passenger missed his plane got there 20 minutes after check in closed   18 years since that last happened traffic levels are getting STUPID
