A year ago I bought a new computer from PC world. I signed up for Knowhow cloud at a cost of £30 per year. The first year being free. The renewal was due last month. The £30 went out of my account but I got an email from Knowhow saying that they were unable to collect my money so my account was suspended. I got no where with them on the phone so I disputed it with the bank. The bank don't want to know because I did authorise a payment. I have just been back in touch with Knowhow and they told me that my account was closed last year and a new one opened. The new details are not mine. the name and email address are wrong. However they are refusing to refund the money because all the card details are correct and the bank are refusing to refund the money because I authorised the use of the bank details.
Annoyed!!!

Bank and get a refund. They might suspend your account until the matter is sorted out though.

Bank are not interested because a transaction was authorised. Just not this one.

And that is the beginning, the middle and the end of it.

Don't know why your bank aren't interested they should be its fraud if you don't get what you paid for or that's what my bank said when something similar happened to me.

The bank aren't interested because I had authorised a payment to go to Knowhow on the date that it was taken. The fact that the payment was not used for my computer backup is not their problem, they say. It is Knowhow who should sort it out but that is proving impossible because as far as they are concerned I have opened and closed multiple accounts.

Sounds like your best closing the whole lot and admitting defeat. Knowhow aren't going to budge on this one by the sounds of it.

I can't work out how they get people to pay for cloud storage. There's free storage options out there for photos and data.

Me neither. I have an external hard drive connected to the computer for back up purposes and I still let myself get mugged.
