Attempted robbery at Circle Cabs taxi office in Ellesmere PortPOLICE are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery at a taxi cab office in Ellesmere Port.
At about 1.15am on Saturday a member of staff was working in Circle Cabs in Princes Road when someone knocked on the rear door.
He opened the door and was punched in the head by one of two men who demanded money.
The victim retaliated and an altercation took place. Both men fled empty handed, running off down the alleyway opposite which runs parallel to Whitby Road behind the gun shop and car showroom.
The alleyway comes out onto Victoria Road. The victim was uninjured.
The first man is described as white, 20 to 25-years-old, 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins, of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark coloured North Face waist length waterproof zip jacket.
The second man is described as white, 20 to 25-years-old, of stocky build but around the same height as the first man. He was wearing dark clothing.
DS Rob Grantham said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious around this time in the area or has any information to contact police to help us progress with our enquiries.”
