Can we headlock punters and march em to the front car then?

Maybe the first cab on the rank is a standard saloon and the prospective punter is in a wheelchair and the third car in the rank is a WAV?

or the 1st car is from Scabby Cabs (with interior design and care by Stig of the dump) and passengers have to wipe their feet getting OUT of them, i know cars who wont put base door signs on cos the base has such a bad reputation.....

can Tesco force me to buy Heinz beans over HP?.....i think not

Probably not the best example because Tesco will position the beans in the best selling position for the company that pays them the most for the placement.

Which is why Grandad, the "Gentlemen's Agreement" of "First On - First Off" is usually the accepted rule on every hackney rank in the country. The first vehicle is in the prime position to take the next customer to approach the rank. However, if the first taxi (the Heinz beanz) is filthy and smells like an old sock, or just because the customer likes the colour blue rather than red the customer can take car two/three/whatever (the HP beanz).

I think you will find first on /off is not the accepted rule on every hackney rank in the country...or even most..

This is covered by the consumer act it is ILLEGAL to deny a customer the right to choose which service provider they wish to use

Well, I had 3 from 'not the front' today:

1. I don't use taxis if your company aren't on the rank.
2. I came to the back because it's such a short journey that I felt it would be unfair to take a car from the front.
3. The front two cars refused to take a small dog. I will take dogs in the front footwell where I can see them and any moulting fur is in one place. That was the best job of the three going £32. Cheers fellas!
