Cardiff is not a big City, population 330,000 ish and a catchment area of a million plus. My thoughts have always been is that Uber will only survive in Premier Cities i.e London,Manchester,Birmingham, cities with populations measured in the millions - the rest have nothing to worry about.

People go to Blackpool to see the lights! When they come to Cardiff they cannot get over how many cabs are queuing night after night - unless there is a big event. Apparently Cardiff has more cars/cabs pro rata than London, so you could be right.

As you say it is early days. The local press have been putting stories out about them at every given opportunity, mainly because it is always taxi bashing season down here and I am sure that they see Uber as potentially a big client re advertising.

Taking on board your attracting new drivers! it would not be conducive for a new company, to let the public know that they will let them down. It would seem that they have rushed to open down here - without setting the operation up properly.

The prospective Uber customers are only whinging because they have discount vouchers they want to use.

As the demand for Uber cars is outstripping supply shouldn't that mean that surge pricing is active constantly ?

Just had a quick look and they currently have about 6 or 7 cars available.
