Me and the lad are on the same base, me = owner driver, him = ful time renter

im a county contractor for schools

the base is also a county contractor for schools

i can only sub my work to another contractor

so i told base i needed him to cover, base said OK

he did it, i paid him....

then base asked what they were charging me for the cover....told em it was sorted

question, when is the renter a contract car and when not? its public hire BTW

were they after knowing what i charge?

doing it via base would mean lad putting an account ticket in with his rent and reducing his settle.....

For example, you pay them £20 they give your lad £12.00

If he pays a % of his takings to the firm then it's fair that he pays a certain % of your takings.

If he pays a straight rental each week, then what he takes is his.
