Man, 23, dies after leaving moving minicab on M8 then being hit by bus

A MAN who died after a bus knocked him down when he left a moving private hire car has been named.

Lyle Rushbury, 23, was killed on the M8 in Glasgow at around 12.30am today.

Police say he left the moving Peugeot E7 private hire taxi as it was driving west bound on the M8 near to Junction 15.

He was subsequently struck by a bus on the carriageway.

Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Junction 15 of the M8 is in the city centre at Glasgow Cathedral.

Inspector Janet Dickie, from the Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street, said: “There would have been other cars driving on the motorway around the time of this incident and it is important we speak to anyone who witnessed what happened.

“In particular we would like to speak to any passengers on the bus involved who may have information to assist with our enquiries.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street through 101.”

this is one case where CCTV would be helpful to prove the driver wasn't at fault
