Minicab driver near Heathrow caught on camera leaving a dirty present on the road

The shocking - but thankfully slightly blurry - footage appears to show the driver leaving the mess in public before climbing back in his vehicle

Shocking footage has emerged of a minicab driver seemingly using a road as a toilet near Heathrow Airport.

The driver is seen reversing into the road, climbing out and opening the boot, before appearing to drop his trousers to leave the foul mess.

The squatting driver is also seen wiping and discarding the dirty toilet paper next to the road. He then climbs back into his vehicle.

It is not clear what company, if any, the man drives for.

However, many complaints have been made by residents living close to the airport about private hire vehicle (PHV) drivers parking in residential areas while waiting to be booked.

Although seen as a nuisance by neighbours, parking in these areas is not illegal, but reports have been made to getwestlondon of some drivers dropping litter and using nearby areas as toilets.

In January, private hire vehicle cab company Uber - the most well known PHV company - was forced to assure residents it was taking reports of anti-social behaviour "very seriously" after complaints from residents near Heathrow in Stanwell, Surrey.

Allegations included complaints of loud music and road blockages in residential areas by drivers waiting for jobs.

An Uber spokesperson said at the time: "We take any reports of antisocial behaviour very seriously, and what has been alleged is clearly unacceptable.

"Whilst this issue is not confined to Uber, we would urge residents to report such behaviour so we can take the appropriate action.

"We are working closely with Heathrow and hope to have a robust solution in place soon."

Heathrow Airport bosses have also revealed plans to create a new car park specifically for PHV drivers at the airport following the complaints, which have also been made by many residents in Hillingdon.

It's a good point.

But one of the first things I would tell any new driver is to note the availability of bogs, and in all fairness there are plenty of places around Heathrow.

Worst case scenario is go to the airport terminal car parks, it might cost you £3 ish, but it's far better than sh**ing yourself.

We have 24 hour supermarkets here. Not all pubs are in city centers.
There always seems to be problems around Heathrow. There is a 24 hour Tesco at junction 3 of the M4 and many pubs on the roads nearby. There are mcdonalds nearby and garages that have toilets. it isn't that difficult to find a toilet if you are minded to do so.
