People do. Now i don't think it is right for people to mock believers in any faith, the same as I don't think it is right for people to preach their faith to people who don't want to be preached to.

On the contrary, I did RE at school because I had to. My mum was an agnostic and apart from weddings and funerals, I can't remember my dad going in a church.
I was not christened as a child because my mum didn't like the vicar. I myself will go to church for weddings and funerals and the odd christening. If i am at a function where prayers are said I will say the right thing at the right time. I will join in at carol services if I am there but I don't go out of my way to attend. Having said that, I would not ridicule anyone who is religious or ridicule any religion. That is their choice.

billions of pounds and the endeavors of a large number of scientific minds are working on this BUT it is not an easy problem to solve however the more our knowledge of science evolves the more and more tenuous the concept of god becomes. Maybe there was some sort of intelligence setting off the events that led to us being here but a god that created such an imperfect and ever changing world I doubt it
