read the books by thomas hauser. ali was not a racist. He made those comments in the sixties. a young ignorant man. his views changed by the end of the decade. his trainer was angelo dundee, jewish and white. his comments where based on the fact that the black man in america, in the 1960s, had no right. there was a movement called the civil rights movements who campaigned for equality.

ali was a member of the brotherhood of islam, i think they are called that. they believe in using violence to achieve their political beliefs. So does the USA,IRAN, CHINA RUSSIA.

Ali never became a muslim to avoid the war. after he beat sonny listen in 1964, he changed his name from cassius clay to muhammed ali. They tried to induct into the army in 1967, but he failed. the american military changed the criteria to gain more soldiers. and ail was inducted. he refused to fight because, he believed the war was wrong. they stripped him of the right to box, until 1970 when he was allowed to box again. by this time the american people were against the war.

you know nothing of ali. read the book by thomas hauser, to gain an understanding of the person, not some comments he made in the 1960s, when a young ignorant man. still ignorance is bliss. ali said when you reach 40 and still think there way you did when young, you have wasted 20 years of your life.

quotes from nidge2

badly ill-treated & abused women - wheres the proof.
Conveniently discovered 'religion' just as he was drafted into the USA military - became muslim well before induction

quotes from ven2112.

all jews and jentiles are devils. his trainer angelo dundde was white and jewish.

ali is idolised by millions. you have your views, I have mine.

A book that's been printed to sell millions of copies, it's like the Sun Newspaper, full of bullsh!t.

Thomas hauser is a renowned American author. He won an award for his book on al's life. The book is academically written, academically referenced unlike the sun newspaper utter garbage. The two don' t compare. The sun is utter garbage, here in Liverpool it is classed as a swear word.

Nice quote. Taken out of context. Gives the impression he hates all white people. This quote was aimed at the American government in the 1960s. He made this statement after he had been conscripted. His argument was why should he fight against Vietnam people. American at that time was segregated. This segregation was a product of the views of the American government, all white. The Vietnamese people did not cause segregation. Historians use the terms witting and unwitting evidence to analyse history or quotes. Witting evidence, the quote implies he is racist. Unwitting evidence, means look the history of the quote, looking at the underlying social meaning behind the quote, which I have stated. I don't mind people quoting so long they understand the quote was made in the context of the time period. Underlying reasons for the quote.

Historians use primary and secondary evidence. Primary evidence, is what happened at the time, such as quotes. Secondary evidence, is what happens after the event, time itself. What are the reasons for the quote, which I always state.

I liked the fella.

Just very sad he ended up the way he did.

I'm told that boxing had nothing to do with it, maybe by the same people who told Noel Edmonds his nutty cancer machine works. ](*,)

It was boxing. Ali towards the end of his career took a lot of punishment to the head. It caused his Parkinson's disease. The problem with a lot of boxers, they carry on too long and suffer dementia or Parkinson's. To name a few, sugar ray Robinson, floyed Patterson. But I do love boxing.

Michael J Fox has the same illness. As far as I am aware Fox was not known to be a boxer.

That's akin to saying as some non smokers get cancer it's doesn't matter if you smoke 50 a day.

Or if a fitness freak has a heart attack keeping fit isn't a healthy option.

That wasn't how I meant it. I was suggesting that anyone can be hit by parkinsons whether they are a boxer or not. The same for heart attacks and cancer.

People can get Parkinson's disease who have not boxed. Ali having the condition can be attributed to boxing. There are different types of cancers, some of which can be defined by lifestyle such as smoking, others maybe genetics. Heart attacks can be lifestyle or genetics. The fact is if you smoke and lead an unhealthy lifestyle you chances of a heart attack and cancer increases. There are exceptions to the rule, people who smoke and live a unhealthy life live to old age.
