Having issues with a early TX2 (2002).

Passengers can hear me but I can't hear them properly.

Thought it might have been the intercom volume control on the centre console so changed it but it made no difference.

Can't seem to increase the volume either. Stereo works fine so I looked around online and there seems to be a intercom amplifier control box.

Where is this amplifier control box located?

Cheers.

I had no intercom at all on my 2003 TX2, completely died one afternoon, since then electrical things started getting odd, like the front windows refusing to go or down.

Turns out the main fuse box (where the relays are seated) was shot, the tracks inside burnt out, replaced that it came back on. I cured it by getting one from a 2004 scrapper and getting the garage to fit it. However you lose the remote locking as it loses it memory for the remote pad and will need to be coded.

Get one from a scrapper as i was quoted £1000 for a new one!!!

Only the TX1's came with an amplifier box.

I don't have any issues with other electrics in the cab. Only the intercom isn't working properly.

I know that, I was stating what was also going wrong with my cab and the main fuse board.

It's the only part that controls the intercom. Got a new one and the intercom came back to life.

Could it possibly be that the diaphragm on the microphone is (technical term here) 5hagged?

you could try a new microphone, just cut the two leads a bit back from the existing one, splice on the new and try it. If it doesn't work just splice the original back in instead. I expect you can get something suitable from Maplins or similar.
