We have moved 8 miles, do I need a new DBS?

Not unless you are changing licensing authority,if applying for renewal of license talk to your licensing officer who should be able to inform you of the length of time your present DBS is valid and when you will have to request a new one.

I don't think this is correct because with the auto updates the information that is sent to the person asking for it will state that there have been changes since the last update but it wont say what these changes are so you will need a new disclosure.

They will not know his change of address unless he notifies them, not every one is signed up to the auto update system.I for one is not.

We have to notify a change of address within 7 days to the council. It is also an offence not to notify the DVLA when you move. So assuming that his driving license has been updated then his address notified to the Council would not match and a new DBS would be required.

No, just notify the relevant departments at the Council and you'll be OK.

my council (LA) are ok but Staffs county council want a whole new badge just for school runs, i was on for not having to pay...

a guy in Cannock has 57 DBS checks to pay for, not taxi licensing checks, just for school run badges

I'd hand them back in and tell them to Foxtrot Oscar.

playing the long game....there will be a dearth of county badged drivers and escorts

and county will only hand contracts out if an operator has sufficient to cover a run...
