Taxi driver banned after 'asking women to urinate in back of his cab'

A driver who allegedly asked women to urinate in the back of his cab has been banned from driving a taxi.

The 55-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had his licence withdrawn yesterday by Glasgow City Council, according to the Glasgow Evening Times.

The newspaper has reported that the man is facing claims of two alleged incidents.

In April, it has been alleged he picked up a female customer and drove her to an unknown location where he said he would not charge her a fare if she urinated in the back of his taxi.

She claims to have refused and reported the alleged incident to police.

He reportedly did the same again when he picked up another woman in the early hours in June.

The woman also made a complaint to Police Scotland.

The Glasgow Evening Times reports that the man is awaiting trial after his case was referred to the procurator fiscal, the public prosecutor in Scotland, under sexual offences law.

Police Scotland requested the immediate removal of his licence and the man has been banned from driving a taxi or a private hire car.

During yesterday’s licencing committee hearing it is reported that the driver said he would be pleading not guilty to the allegations.

You'd wonder if ur ine wrong taxi, maybe he got the wrong end of the stick when he was told to slash fares.

Maybe he wanted the £50 fouling charge.

A woman got in a taxi here a few weeks ago at around 4 in the morning. She said that she didn't feel very well. It is alleged that the driver turned the heating full on and drove rather erratically in an attempt to have her throw up so he could get the £100 soiling charge. Unfortunatly for the driver she managed to hold it in until she had got out of the car and then let it go.

A grandfather is facing jail after trying to coerce two females to do the toilet in the back of his black hack taxi.

Both women reported the incidents to the police and picked Smith, from Baillieston, Glasgow, out of a number of images shown to them.

After a trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court, Smith was convicted of repeatedly attempting to coerce one woman to urinate in the taxi, and another charge of coercing the second girl into removing her lower clothing and attempting to.

Smith - a father and grandfather - claimed the women did the toilet, he didn’t ask them to and was left with the mess.

The first women told the court that if she let him watch her that he would give her the taxi journey for free.

The second female, also claimed that while driving, Smith told her she wouldn’t need to pay if she did the toilet.

Sheriff Joan Kerr deferred the matter until next month, continued Smith’s bail and told him he was on the Sex Offenders’ register.

A grandfather and Celtic fan who tried to coerce two females to do the toilet in the back of his black hack taxi has been jailed for more than a year.

Pervert Robert Smith, 56, told the women during taxi journeys in April and June last year that he would waive their fare if they did.

The first victim a 31-year-old business owner refused to carry out the sick act when asked on more than one occasion.

His second victim, only 18 at the time, was scared enough to try but was unable to.

Both women reported the incidents to the police and picked Smith, from Baillieston, Glasgow, out of a number of images shown to them.

After a trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court, Smith was convicted of repeatedly attempting to coerce one woman to urinate in the taxi, and another charge of coercing the second girl into removing her lower clothing and attempting to.

Today sheriff Joan Kerr jailed Smith for 15 months and put him on the Sex Offenders’ register for 10 years.
