If I remember correctly the job that Wannabee was doing was a 6 day a week school run to a school that wasn't that far away. It has been posted on here before.

ages ago...

now on 5 days a week x £90/day plus escort at £45/day =£675 a week

just bid on another 6 day a week run but only £75/day = £450/week

why so interested in my contract?

what do you earn?

Go and get on the framework (ours is open in 2019), get the county contractor badge for all drivers/escorts/base staff (DBS, CSE course, etc) and then try tendering....or go sit on the rank (which i do between schools sometimes)

You were the one who mentioned the contract, You were the one to mention your personal figures (not me), and then came out with a figure that I had never heard the likes of!

I asked for details (not names) as to what was entailed i.e distance/time involved/why so high.

Oh......my earnings? = The great State Pension + a few smaller (and I mean small) works pensions, and some savings/investments! Nothing to hide/no outrageous claims from me.

Well it has been a busy week tendering for the school contracts. Every driver who wanted school contract work will be getting at least £50.00 per day and the best being £86.00 per day.
Not a bad week. I hope they are pleased.

Good to hear.

Never been a fan of school runs, but nearly all my mates are.

So it must be me.

me neither we stopped bidding for them years ago they go way too cheap round our way and funnily enough I never get moans from my drivers as they can fill their boots with cash jobs around school run time

lowest i bid is 10% less than meter.....bearing in mind it can be 4 years work 10 trips a a week 34 weeks a year, with an annua rise each april

Are you off of your medicinal drugs yet?......You have claimed (nobody forced you) that you have an exceptionally highly remunerative school contract! A question has been asked, and then (you say) " I don't want the answer".......Hmm hello........yes I do. At the moment your claim of a 3k in a month contract, does not stack up.

The truth of these contacts is NOT the actual figure being quoted - "The Truth" is what anyone (as an individual) will actually get from it as an end result i.e overall expenses stripped out ......they are not what they seem.

That would be the same for any taxi fare though. If the fare is £5.00 that is what the customer pays. the driver still has to take their expenses out of the fiver, even if they are an owner/driver.

I had hoped that you would have looked beyond that. Reading what some of the guys on here have put i.e quoting a minus price of 10% of the normal meter tariff, and then a minus £45/whatever per day for an escort to come out - and then to strip out in some cases VAT! My point being is this; the drivers/some of them, are not actually getting (for themselves) anywhere near the figures that they are posting.

I can't speak for others but unless I have made a cock up I always quote what the job would be on the meter, including dead miles where I can. For our drivers who are self employed, that is what they get. Obviously the hourhly paid drivers get paid the hourly rate which is currently £8.00 per hour. Our escorts also get £8.00 per hour.
