Hi guys recently fitted a smart witness CCTV to my Vito Cab with one forward facing camera and one pointing rear ward into my Cab
Licensing have approved no problem.

I believe you have to Register with the ICO for data ive just been on there website and filled in a quick check list and it say I don't need to register any ideas

i have the front/rear facng cam & never bothered tbh, its more of a deterrent for me , although i did get the stickers that inform you cctv is in the cab on every door window , calms them down on the way in   been informed you need to register or it wont stand up in court, tbh if someone gets in your car, sees the stickers & the camera, & still does it , i don't think he/she will be to bothered about getting caught robbing you anyway

If the rearward facing camera is capturing images of the passengers in the back of the vehicle then you must register as a Data Manager with the ICO. However, if the rearward facing camera is only capturing images of following vehicles to the rear of the vehicle, it is regarded as an accident camera and registration is not required.

If at any time you need/want to download stuff you need a license to cover you.

The ICO are very keen to point out it is not a Licence, it is a Registration.

I have just renewed mine. It lasts 12 months and I have paid for it.

It certainly feels like a licence as a result!
