So yet again it's a case of who are we going to get saddled with personally i think we need an ex International who knew what it was like to get to a quarter or semifinal of a major tournament

All very well putting Gareth "the penalty" Southgate in temporary charge but lets face it would we be better off giving him the job on a short term contract say just to the end of qualifying and if he proves successful give him a better one and how about Gary Neville for no 2 he knows the game as well as anyone why not a couple of players who the current squad would have watched play and might look up to and be INSPIRED by. We have the talent just not the inspiration and desire to succeed

come on then who do the rest of you think should be offered the job

I would like someone like Martin O'Neil. I know he isn't available but he has excellent man management skills and he did wonders when he was at Leicester with very mediocre players.

Does the person have to be English? The best man for the job always does it for me.

Eddie Jones has done miracles for the rugby side, the right man could do it for the football. I know it has been tried before with a foreign manager, unfortunately I think that the problem is the lot behind the scenes. To move forward the whole lot needs changing.

I don't think the manager needs to be English but I think they must have a very good understanding of the English game. I also think they should have had managerial experience at a (relatively) successful team. Even Sir Alex with his hairdryer could be a good choice.

Absolutely has to be an Englishman for me, otherwise any success is tainted.

International football is about a country putting their best up against the rest.

Success is always tainted by the so called "Professional foul"! Cheating/ tainted was accepted by the public a long time ago

It has happened before though countries like Germany appointing an experienced ex international without much club management experience and it worked well. I personally believe that international football is very different from Club football and maybe a lack of club management experience is not a hinderence
