Ok. I refused to speak to him in his official capacity. Happy now?
Still no help. What did he say and what did you say to warrent the exchange of letters? what was the content of these letters? What has been said that makes you think you need a next move?
Ok. I told him that I knew he had no jurisdiction over me,and as such I was under no obligation to tell him anything and he had no right to inspect either myself or my vehicle. He wrote to me a few days later claiming obstruction. I replied saying that it is impossible to obstruct someone that has nothing to do with you. He replied threatening me with court action and saying that I had to attend an interview in Manchester. I replied declining his kind offer and pointing out that the threat was an abuse of power and this whole episode is "ultra vires" and therefore illegal. I also asked where he had got my details from as this was a breach of the data protection act. The second letter I sent ran to four pages so I won't bore you with all the detail.
As I see it then at the moment you don't have a next move. It is his move next. This can be one of 3 possible things. 1, he leaves it at that. 2, he passes his concerns to your LO who may or may not want to do anything. 3, he takes you to court. If it is the latter then you may need to seek the advice of a taxi licensing solicitor, someone who knows about the jurisdiction issues and take it from there. One thing I would not do if it goes that way is represent myself.
