50,000 on factory originals I reckon. You've not done bad with them.

When our Auris went in for it's first service we were told that it needed new brake pads. It was at less than 20,000 miles. Oh and they told us that they would need to change the discs as well as a matter of course. Obviously we didn'y have them done at that time but we did buy a set of pads to change when we thought they needed doing. It was another 12 months before they were actually at the wear limit and the discs were still in very good condition. The car no longer goes to Toyota for servicing.

dealers are told to recommend changing part worn pads if there is a slight chance they might not last to next service. Ford told me mine on the tourneo needed changing after just 15000 miles as they were apparently 2/3rds worn now 27000 miles and they are fine still

Brake discs on my last E7 auto lasted nearly 3 years 125,000 miles, traded in that one without the need for a change, brake pads should last at least 15-20k, all depends though on how hard you brake or sit on your brakes, prefer the light right foot approach on my brakes, use my handbrake a lot whilst stopping at lights, picking up etc
