enterprise went bust , so, like i posted before need some advice, just had a letter from my insurers stating that my ins will be cancelled on the 27th of this month, now ,the thing is that the insurers want me to pay weekly for the next six months until i get my compensation from the fscs ( financial services compensation scheme), so how do i stand with this then? why should i pay for 2 cars weekly when its only insured by 1 company?, i told them to fook off & got a quote from swintons ( it was£200 a year cheaper btw), so , should i just leave my current providers & tell them to get fooked & go with swinton? do they have any come back? i don't want the compen, they can keep it tbh so, can they take me to court ?will it go on my credit score etc ?

I wouldn't pay weekly unless you have no other choice.

Get a new insurer and go from there.

Our new policy is with Qudos threw Mercury insurance brokers. They have a deal on that will allow you interest free payments if you are going to them because you had an Enterprise policy.

when you pay for your insurance through an instalment plan do the payments go direct to your insurer or to a finance company, if it's the latter I suspect you wil have to keep paying as the finance company will have paid the full years premium to Enterprise and you owe that amount plus interest to them.

Fortunatly for us, our Enterprise policy expired on October 11th. However I would guess that if you are paying for your policy by instalments then you will actually be paying a finance company such as closer brothers or premium credit. That means that you still have to pay the monthly money unless you can come to an agreement with them. I would suggest asking them to waive the rest of the payments until you get paid out if you take out your new policy and finance it through them. it is worth a try.

MOST instalment plans pay for a loan/HP to pay the insurers so yes....your stuffed and will have to clear the balance - even if the policy has crashed

If you got your insurance through a loan or finance company the FSCS have stated they will be paying the compensation direct to the companies which will be used to reduce your debt.
