Gets a job from a pub, bloke gets in and goes on a £3.40 journey at tariff 2  'Thats too much, I'm not paying that you'll get £3 and thats it, and I'll be phoning the office to complain' He'll be complaining even more now all the drivers know not to pick him up !

Later gets a pickup from a bus depot, I can see the destination from the pickup point. Conductor gets in, 20 seconds later I arrive at her house. £2.60 (at T2) please, hands me a £20 note 'I've got one of your discount cards' !!

Wonder why I bother sometimes.

10 years ago we used to charge £22 to Peterborough Train station the local trade charged £25 today we still charge £22 but the local trade over there are now £17 and several local firms here are now only £20 or less

local petrol station last saturday i took the 8 seater out to do 1 job 24 mile round trip and then topped the fuel up expecting about £8 but it ran to £17  checked with the last driver in it and he confirmed he had fueled up to the second click.

Today as another driver had my usual car to go to Heathrow I used that vehicle again and did about £110 and the fuel gauge showed about a quarter of a tank used so was expecting to be about 20 to 25 litres (£25 to £30) the pump finally cut out showing 58 litres £69.75

Left petrol station and realised it was the same pump so thought I would get in touch with trading standards well you can't they only provide contact details for citizens advice who will take your complaint and "share" the info with trading standards but you are not allowed to know if they acted on it or not

so that's 63% of my days takings apparently gone in fuel and nothing I can do other than write and complain to the petrol station

I am absolutely certain the pump was recording DOUBLE what I was actually getting

Not happy

You could always go back with one of those 5 litre containers and check it.

the thing is is it the pump or the way the pump interacts with my fuel filler pipe on the vehicle ?

Not sure if this is a gripe, more of a 'what the f***?

Mrs is abroad and for Halloween wants to do the pumpkin thing in a country that doesn't do it. They celebrate some other thing at the same time.

So she goes on line to the food store and order 'one pumpkin'.

When her food arrives she unpacks it and sees what they have sent.

They sent a slice of pumpkin. #-o

When I was a Catering Logistician in The Royal Navy, alongside in Portsmouth I ordered 28LB of fresh Strawberries amongst many other stores.

Next day the NAAFI lorry pitched up and I checked the stores against delivery notes.

I rejected the 30 Catering size tins of Gooseberries - I hadn't ordered them.

I rejected the fresh tomatoes - not in useable condition.

You get the idea.

I then rang the NAAFI to go through things, asked where the missing strawberries were. "They have a substitute" said the young lady. "Really" said I, "didn't see a substitute". The reply was "30 tins of Gooseberries". "You have to be joking" I said. "No, the Strawberries were substituted with tinned Gooseberries - they're both Berries" said she!

I worked for a catering supplies company and they ordered 60 x large tins of Nescafe

a bit later they realised the order quantity was "per tray" of 6 so reduced the order to 10

the truck arrives with......60 TRAYS..x 6 tins per tray....360 tins.

the paperwork said 10 trays...60 tins

so.....warehouse manager says take em back...driver says "its 5pm, the yard will be shut, its friday, my last shift as im off driving an army convoy to Bosnia, ill just chuck my keys and tacho in the drop box"

so we did the only decent thing we could do

bunged the driver £50 cash (out the warehouse pallets sold cash tin) and divided coffee up
