I would also add; If I was busy (on the go all/most of the shift) then I never really felt tiredness, however a quiet shift was a different ball game.

1) start time
2) breaks
3) How busy
4) amount of time hanging out on rank
5) how stressful is the traffic
6) weather

4.5 hours today normally 3 hrs weekday and 8 on a saturday

Yes, but not as often as I did when I was a lad.

But it's never 12/14 hours flat out, is it?

for me between 8 and 12 is normal. if its busy it goes by quick. if its slow you get tired. just depends on what your concentration levels are

12-15 hours max. Round here they work 30 hours straight sometimes more.
