A man who arranged for a 14-year-old girl to be taken from a Lincolnshire children's home to London for sex has been jailed.
Billal Amin sent a taxi to collect the teenager and her 15-year-old friend and take them to a hotel in East London.
The two girls were given alcohol before the 14-year-old performed a sex act on Amin and had sex with another man.
Amin was jailed for 12 years and put on the sex offenders' register for life at Lincoln Crown Court.
'Acted disgracefully'
Martin Hurst, prosecuting, said after the assaults Amin took a taxi with the girls telling them they were going to his home.
When they left the taxi Amin disappeared abandoning the girls in London in the middle of the night.
The court was told they sought help and police were contacted resulting in an investigation that led to Amin's arrest.
The inquiry revealed two months earlier Amin had met the girl in London when she had also performed a sex act on him.
'Beggars belief'
Jailing him for 12 years, Judge Simon Hirst said he acted "disgracefully".
He told him: "Abandoning a 14-year-old girl in London in the middle of the night beggars belief."
Amin denied a charge of trafficking for sexual exploitation in March 2013 and two charges of sexual activity with a child but was convicted by a jury on a 10 to two majority.
He was cleared of a further charge of trafficking for sexual exploitation.
The 33-year-old, of Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, was also given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order banning him from having contact with any child under 16.

Why did they send children all the way down to London unsupervised? Surely the kids would have said something. Remember the same thing happened in Rotherham.

I don't think the kid was sent to London. I doubt the care home were aware that she had even been to London Until she returned. I know we live in different times now but at 14 years old I and a mate of mine would travel the country, albeit with our parents permission, To watch football matches.
I remember when my ex wife and I were going through training to be foster carers. One of the scenarios put to us was "what would you do if the 15 year old girl that had been placed with you didn't come home until 02.00 in the morning? We went through the usual stuff that any parent would so you can imagine our surprise when the social worker's response was that they would look upon this situation as a positive because in her previous placement she would stay out all night.
You have to look at a much wider picture on this and whilst we all pretty much agree that this particular kind of behaviour, taking advantage of and grooming vulnerable children, from a certain type of man should result in him having his balls removed with a blunt knife at the very least. Lets not forget that in a lot of cases of under age sex the under age person is a willing participant because as we all know sex is a pleasurable thing and whether we like it or not young girls and boys will always want to try things out before they are legally allowed to do so. Now weather every instance of underage sex is abusive or not is a very grey area in many peoples eyes. For instance do any of you see any difference between a 15 year old girl being groomed by an older person and her having, what to her is a very nice pleasurable experience, because she doesn't realise that she has been groomed? and a fifteen year old schoolgirl who has been going out with a classmate for 2 years but he is now 16 and them having a very close intimate relationship where they also have intercourse?

I would've walked out the training. Allowing a 15 year old to stay out all night without the relevant checks would set alarm bells ringing, I know they have to play out scenarios but come one??

You clearly don't understand how some of these kids are. What would you have done if one of your kids way "wayward"? These kids are in care for a reason.

Oh I do, my sister is a Foster Carer and has been for 30 years.

Does she care for troubled teenagers? If she does I would have expected you to be a bit more understanding.

She's had what they call "Challenging teenagers" for the last 10 years, she's had a few who have been abused both sexually and mentally. It's all about how you treat them straight off the bat when they walk through the door. When they walk out of her door at the end of the Fostering term they've grown into self respecting people and they keep in touch with her.
