We have had a load of calls this afternoon to take people from hotels in town to a wedding venue a few miles from town. Not one of them asked about booking a return. That will be interesting later when they try to book because there will be no cars available at all.

has the venue got it's own minibus ? If not I'm sure someone will offer them service at the right price  If they are still operating perhasps handy cars won't mind leaving a few more bookings stranded to fit it in

We didn't ask because we know that we can't do the returns. No one will be able to until at least 04.00.

Then say no, or you have good availability at 11.00pm.

believe me we have all week ! had well over 100 after the 01.00 slot but these days we are doomed by the consequences of overcapacity people round here expect taxis to be like download tv or burgers in limitless supply on demand and if they can't get exactly what they want no compromise gone are the days when people would ask what times have you available we have only 4 jobs in after 01.00  but like every local can firm very difficult to find customers willing to go home a bit later. the only way to do it would be to persuade my drivers to drop to normal time and half after 02.00 I bet people would book then if it was cheaper to wait

It is what I term the american you got it culture which is why ufail get away with surge pricing everybody's night out has to begin or end at the same time or they feel like they are not on trend

we are T3 double after 8 pm NYE through to 06.00 on 2nd jan I think maybe dropping to T2 after 02.00 might be the answer to getting work booked in

Race to the bottom then. Anyway, just because it says rate 3 on the tariff card doesn't mean you have to charge it. You call always do a Skippy and offer a discount on the metered fare but I for one won't suggest that our drivers start offering discounts. We did have one once. We soon stopped him from doing it by increasing his mileage rate. We told him that if wants to work for less money he can give the extra to us and not the customer.

If the venue's got its own minibus I holpe it's licenced as PH/taxi or PSV. Rout-v-Swallow Hotels.
