How much do you pay for a drivers badge in your area, We in the Scottish Borders pay £69 per year :sad: :sad: what do you pay and for how long????

After that about £225 every three years.

Eastbourne charge £255 every three years. Which then begs the question as to why they charge so much more than Brighton who charge about £35 a year (£105 over three years).

Manchester-v-King says that councils can only charge the actual cost of processing the license, so why does it cost more than twice as much in one manor, as it does to another near by? Image

Yes, and that reminds me of Edinburgh charging £700 for a new application.

I think many LAs charge the same for either an application or a renewal, and if not then the differential isn't huge, as in York:

hackney carriage vehicle licence or private hire vehicle licence (new application) 132.00

hackney carriage vehicle licence or private hire vehicle licence (renewal) 104.00

2 MOT's on the car a year costing £300

Medical every 3 years with your own GP (mines £75)

CRB report every 3 years (£35 i think)

here in ayrshire...P/H is around £135 for 3 yrs... :twisted:
plate is £284 for 3 yrs

Mine cost £354 although according to the figures below I should have been changed £364.

£168 for the grant of a licence
£46 driving test
£52 medical
£38 CRB
£50 dissability awareness
£10 verbal communication test
