OFFICERS investigating a report of an assault in Ashby which left the victim in a critical condition in hospital are trying to trace the driver of a silver taxi.
Police were called at 2.41am yesterday (Sunday, February 12) to a report of a fight in Market Street.
Officers attended and the victim was taken to hospital with head injuries and is in a critical condition.
A silver taxi was parked in close proximity to the fight and officers are keen to speak to the driver as they may have information which could assist the investigation.
Three men, two aged 25 and one aged 28, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and have since been bailed pending further enquiries.
A fourth man, aged 24, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and is currently in custody.
