We’ve heard of some bizarre excuses for speeding before but this one may have just topped them all.
A taxi driver who was stopped by police on Friday decided to blame his speeding on his passengers.
And no, not because they were rushing him or talking too loud, but because the passengers were farting too much.
Dorset traffic cops had been parked up in Bournemouth town when they spotted the speeding driver.
Sharing the hilarious excuse on Facebook, Dorset traffic police wrote: ‘Just when you thought you’ve heard it all…’
It turns out (unsurprisingly) that his excuse didn’t work and he was reported for speeding and will likely have to do a speeding course, which is £110, or take the three penalty points and £100 fine.
The police say his speed was too much to use discretion.
