A taxi driver filmed threatening to rape and kill young female passengers and calling them Lady of the Night has been ordered to have three hours of etiquette training.

Although several students complained, police in Bangkok refused to take up a criminal case against Wirat Thassanatikom – instead referring him to the Department of Land Transport.

shades of Rotherham ?

According to Thai news site Khaosod, the department fined him 1,000baht (£23) and ordered him to sit through an three-hour lecture on ‘good manners’.

Really

The latest incident happened on Sunday, when student Kunyaphat Pitchayapukdee was riding in Wirat’s cab with four friends.
When the girl sitting in the front seat adjusted an air conditioning vent, Thassanatikom launched into a misogynistic tirade.
Bangkok cabbie fined for threatening to rape passengers

‘What right do you think you have to adjust the air-con in my car?’ he shouted. ‘It’s not your car! What school do you go to? Do they not teach you manners, you uneducated, evil karee?’
Karee is a vulgar slang word, meaning ‘Lady of the Night’.
The passengers then started recording the driver who continued shouting and threatening them.
‘I’m a former policeman,’ he can be heard saying in the video, which was later posted to Facebook. ‘I could bury you like that tom, don’t you read the news? Or how about I don’t say anything and just drag out and rape you?’

When one of the girls told him to just drop them off, the driver kept going.
‘If you’re pretty but have an evil personality, no one will want you,’ he ranted. ‘You’ll just have to be a Lady of the Night. Look at you, looking all displeased when I’m talking to you. If you have any complaints, I live right here at Baan Uea Athorn.’
The students filed a complaint that same day, but police officer Nikorn Haoboon told the site that they had taken no action.
Nikorn said: ‘The kids adjusted the air-con and he spoke rudely to them, so I put it down as evidence.’

Of course if he lost his license he could always come over here and license as PH in London.

Providing he passes the English test.
