Dear J.D.

In reply to your question about TRAFFORD VOICE, I am not quite sure, I noticed in recent members that another one from Trafford joined on Tuesday, think the user name was "onyerbike". As you said out of the woodwork, I suppose myself included. I do have some form of explanation for this, after reading your postings I did discuss them with several other people, not I hasten to add in a derogatory manner but to enlighten others as to how we were being hoodwinked by T.M.B.C.

I would also like to say that I have this afternoon read the transcript of the trial, and yes you were right and yes I and others were foolish enough to be mislead and misinformed. But I suppose I went a bit further by posting comments on this forum. I apologise, cant say any more than that.

Regards
S.B.

Firstly no i do not find your comments too hostile my keyboard has never had so much use as in the past 24hrs.

I have to admit to having no idea at all why you keep on going on about the uniqueness of the last transfer of a plate. As far as myself and every other cabbie I have spoken to in Trafford are concerned it is the one both I and Shirlebutt have mentioned where the owner was disabled and in hospital at the time but I cant understand why you would think this was so unique so you have got my curiosity there. Which if it is not the same plate as you are tallking about I would be only too pleased to have you enlighten me!

Again you have jumped to conclusions I never said I had been on other Taxi Forums I just said that yours was not the only forum which I had been on. There are other forums on the internet apart from ones dedicated to Taxi Drivers as I am sure you are well aware of!

When you said the last plate to be transferred was for the value of 35 Grand surely that was including a Taxi as well so it is not the correct value of the Plate alone.

As for answering your question about Ayres Rd it is too late to answer that now as Shirlebutt has got there before me but yes i did know the answer and you will just have to take my word for it what reason would I have to lie. Just like I never saw your post about the last plate being issued but if you are sceptic about by knowledge of the Trafford area then why ask me in the first place :?:

Might I also add that as Shirlebutt has just mentioned we have read the trial transcripts and yes you were right but all i was saying was that i do not think gives you the right to make us out to be liars about being from Trafford.

T.V.

Shirlebutt/J.D.

Would also like to add sfter your question as to whether Shirlebutt knows me personally and to her response, no i do not know who shirlebutt is and I dont think she knows who I am either! Dozens of cabbies will have read the transcripts by now the ranks are worse than a grape vine as you will welll be aware of! I admit I was told of this site by a coleague and had no prior knowledge of it before hand but surely that is a compliment to your site as it now means that hundreds of people that didnt know about it have visited it in the past few days alone and your site has gained lots of free publicity if nothing else!

Thank goodness this issue will be settled some time today, then everyone will know the facts. Including Trafford's licensing officers.

At the end of the day anyone, even me, is entitled to apply for anything at anytime, and if councils don't adhere to the law of the land, then they can't refuse such applications.

Maybe the local trade should have been putting pressure on the council to adhere to the law, but as is the case in quite a few areas, the less said about the law the better.

Yes you are quite right Sussex, anyone is entitled to apply for anything at anytime. That was never in question what people dont agree with is the fact that one man can get 5 licences within a short space of time when others have been waiting nearly ten years for 1

And at the end of the day the only people at fault here are T.M.B.C for misleading us and withholding the correct information. [-(

Ha Ha, no problem.

I think you have chosen quite an appropriate one to replace it.

Yorkie used to have some interesting exchanges with JD as well.

You can basically choose any picture on the internet that you want Mr TV, or any that you can send us by email (one of your own taken by digital camera, for example). It doesn't have to be the right size - if you let us know what picture you want then we'll do the rest.

There's more info here, and a link to some ready made avatars.

BTW GBC, on the subject of changing things, I see you've changed the website link in your profile to the other side, so perhaps you could change your link on there to TDO, or is that not allowed

Talking of links, for those who accuse us of this that and the next thing, has anyone ever noticed that our links page includes far more pro-quota sites than against?

And it's been like that since the site started, and won't change. :)

I understand what you are saying, but we have to live we the way the 1985 Act is written and interpreted.

For the record I would very much like to see the end of section 16.
